Mackenzie Thorpe
Mackenzie Thorpe, born in Northern England (1956) and the eldest of seven children, overcame dyslexia and the childhood challenges that resulted from it to become a world renowned artist. He attended Byam Shaw Art College in London, eventually returning to Northern England.Influenced by Van Gogh and Rothko, his style is his own and reflects his own unique life experiences and perspective.
Six of Thorpe’s exhibitions in the last few years were sell-outs, including the biggest one-man show ever held in Northern England. He has been an official artist for the ArtExpo LA and was commissioned by Elton John’s Aids Foundation to do the 1996 Holiday cards.
The artist currently resides in Richmond, North Yorkshire, with his wife Susan and his children Owen and Chloe.
